Well, 2020 hasn’t been particularly normal to say the least, for reasons that we are all well aware of. However things go on and fortunately as a company we have been well protected from the problems caused by the pandemic. In fact, we think it has actually helped many people appreciate their gardens in a way they didn’t before, being forced to spend time and work at home, and invest in them as we perhaps start a fresh in a new world.
We are coming to the end of an enourmous refurbishment project in East Oxford, involving renovating and extending a Grade II Listed Building as well as redesigning and landscaping the gardens.
Garden design remains at the forefront of what we do and we are keeping busy visiting new clients in Oxfordshire and surrounding areas and creating some wonderful designs which we are very excited about implementing in the coming months. We are also setting up a new maintenance division as we have noticed a gap in the market for people who require quality maintenance services from a company they can totally rely upon, particularly while houses may be empty for periods of time.
There is also a new arm to the business. The Fern Seat which was first shown last year as part of the award winning show garden at Hampton Court Palace – Calm Amidst Chaos . The Seat was part of a broader design concept at the time but received so much interest that it became clear that it was going to become something in its own right. The seat is handmade locally and it’s taken us some time to find the craftsmen who were willing to give the project the respect it deserves but we feel very close to getting it into production and taking it to market.
We have also taken on a member of staff in a new role, Ben Hedges has joined us as Head of Creativity. Ben comes from a background in conveyancing and was looking for a change for some time. He has run his own businesses and very much buys into the ethical approach that gardens for Good insists upon. He is already bringing a huge amount to the company and we look forward to a very bright future with him. You can contact him at email@example.com or alternatively give him a call on 07765 863471.
Lastly, we would love to hear about your experiences with your gardens and in life this year, wether you are a Gardens for Good customer or not please feel free to strike up a conversation with us, through whatever medium you feel most comfortable with and also we would love as many as possible to interact with our posts on social media.
Thanks very much for reading and we look forward to hearing from you.
